Dan's Driving School offers Ontario Ministry of Transportation approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) online and in-class courses. The BDE program features self-paced online learning, which allows students to complete their traditional in-class training using a variety of connected devices from anywhere.  The online course provides 20 hours of instruction and 10 hours of homework and covers topics such as:

 

• defensive driving concepts

• cooperative driving concepts

• emergency situations and maneuvers

• visual awareness skills

• skid prevention and control

• traffic laws

• inattention and distractions

• collision prevention

• and more

This course also includes 10 hours of in-car instruction (1 to 1 ratio), which can be completed at your convenience. During your lesson, your instructor will provide recommendations as to how to best reduce risks and further develop your driving skills based upon your individual needs. Instruction will culminate with a mock road test, which will simulate the MTO road test.

To qualify for a Drivers License History for insurance purposes, all components of the BDE program must be successfully completed within 12 months of starting the course.  To successfully complete the BDE program a grade of 75% or higher must be achieved, the in-vehicle driving evaluation results must also be 75% or higher.  Failure to successfully complete within 12 months will result in all money paid and any unfinished course elements be forfeited. The Ministry of Transportation will not issue a Drivers License History for insurance purposes unless the BDE course is successfully completed within 1 year.

Cancellation Policy

​

If you must cancel a driving lesson with your driving instructor, please note that 24 hours notice is required.  A student who is not present within 10 minutes of the scheduled time or is unable to proceed with the in-car lesson for any reason will be charged a fee of $40.00 for the cancellation, which must be paid before the students next scheduled in car lesson or prior to receipt of a Certificate of Course Completion.
